-
Take a photo or choose an existing photo that ideally is taken in open shade or in a brightly lit room without direct light.
-
Use a smartphone or high quality camera. Ensure the whole face & neck is visible and not in shadows Natural open shade works best.
-
Avoid filtered photos.
-
Make sure the subject is looking directly at the camera at eye level, facing forward. With a range of photos that includes a headshot, a profile, 3/4 length and full body.
-
Please make sure to include at least one photo of the subject where they are not smiling. This gives our artist the ability to judge the subject's face accurately.

Best
For best results please submit 3-4 photos: Headshot, Profile, 3/4 and Full Length.

Good
If you only have one photo, headshots with chin slightly down will work well.

Worst
Pixelated photos, photos from angles, photos with hats or the body cut off will not result in good results. We suggest you take photos that fall within the guidelines for "Best" or "Good".

Photos Guidelines for Action Art
-
Take a photo or choose an existing photos that freeze all motion and are sharp. High shutter speed and sharp focus make for the best art.
-
Avoid interference of the main subject, obstructions and people in the foreground cannot be removed.
-
Avoid filtered photos.
-
Make sure the subject is looking towards at the camera shots of the subject from the back or with a face that is not totally visible are not as impactful or dynamic.
-
Not all shots need to be action if you have a great posed shot, celebration shot, or walk up shot of your athlete these make for great art too!

Best
Sharp and in-focus hi-res photos will be able to be clipped most easily and achieve the best results.

Good
Good quality hi-res photos that are a bit further away are still OK as long as they are sharp.

Worst
"Soft" or blurry images will not yield ideal results for Action posters.
If your image is out of focus or blurry so will your art.
